Why Us
Why Work With
Integrated Behavioral Health
.
I believe therapy & assessments should be a collaborative process between the client and the therapist.
At Integrated Behavioral Health, our goal is to help families feel more confident and to have the resources they need. We support you in riding the ups and downs of parenting, while helping you navigate the complex landscape of having a child with unique needs.
When you’re facing anxiety or uncertainty about how to parent effectively, it can be overwhelming to balance all the competing priorities. You might struggle to find a parenting approach that aligns with your values and helps you feel connected and capable. We’re here to help you understand and meet your child’s unique needs while staying true to yourself.
We support the emotional well-being of parents as individuals too. This includes stress management, identity shifts, relationship strain, and burnout. When caregivers feel supported and grounded, the entire family benefits.
With over a decade of combined experience, we offer therapy and evaluations that are grounded in evidence-based practices, collaborate with professionals and individuals working with your child, and provide comprehensive recommendations to help you or your child thrive. We guide you through handling the toughest challenges, providing you with practical tools and strategies that foster confidence and fulfillment in your journey.
We believe the therapeutic process should be:

Empathetic
Being a parent can feel overwhelming, especially with the flood of information from social media and parenting books. We meet you and your child exactly where you are and offer compassion and empathy to help you move forward.

Evidence-based
Our diverse therapy methods and assessments are all rooted in evidence-based practices. Our goal is to help you and your child make tangible progress and feel empowered to navigate daily life confidently, even beyond therapy.

Values-based
Every family, child, and parent are different. What is okay for one parent is not okay for another parent. We make sure that we understand your family’s values and come alongside to support them rather than prescribing one type of approach to a situation.

Questions About Prenatal & Postpartum Therapy
Is what I'm feeling normal?
It’s completely understandable to wonder if what you’re feeling is normal, whether you’re currently pregnant or have just had a baby. The perinatal and postpartum periods are times of immense physical and emotional change, and it’s common to experience a wide range of emotions. Remember, every parent’s journey is unique. Preparing for a baby’s arrival and caring for a newborn are huge responsibilities, so it’s natural to feel overwhelmed at times. You might feel exhausted, anxious, or unsure of yourself. These feelings are a normal part of adjusting to parenthood, and we’re here to help you process and work through all of these experiences.
How can I distinguish between "baby blues" and postpartum depression?
This is an important question and one that should be discussed with a healthcare professional. The therapists at Integrated Behavioral Health can help clarify this when they meet with you. In general, “baby blues” typically begin within a few days after childbirth and last up to two weeks. Symptoms are usually mild and manageable, and they don’t interfere with your ability to care for yourself or your baby. Postpartum depression, however, can begin anytime during pregnancy or within the first year after childbirth. Symptoms last longer than two weeks and can significantly impact your daily life, making it difficult to function or care for your baby. Whether you’re experiencing “baby blues” or postpartum depression, we’re here to support you through this new and challenging time.
I had a difficult birth or postpartum experience. Will this affect my attachment with my baby?
It’s entirely understandable to be concerned about how a difficult birth or postpartum experience might impact your bond with your baby. While these experiences can create some initial challenges, they don’t prevent you from forming a strong and secure attachment. Building a secure bond takes time and is nurtured through consistent, responsive interactions. Even if there were challenges early on, there are still many opportunities to develop a loving and connected relationship through everyday caregiving. We can help guide you through this process in a non-judgmental and supportive environment.
Do you work with fathers?
Absolutely. Parenthood is a huge adjustment for dads, too. It’s important for fathers to feel supported as they handle their own ups and downs and figure out how to best support their partners through all the challenges. We’re here to help dads feel confident and connected, both as parents and partners.
