Why Us

Why Work With
Integrated Behavioral Health

.

I believe therapy & assessments should be a collaborative process between the client and the therapist.

At Integrated Behavioral Health, our goal is to help families feel more confident and to have the resources they need. We support you in riding the ups and downs of parenting, while helping you navigate the complex landscape of having a child with unique needs.

When you’re facing anxiety or uncertainty about how to parent effectively, it can be overwhelming to balance all the competing priorities. You might struggle to find a parenting approach that aligns with your values and helps you feel connected and capable. We’re here to help you understand and meet your child’s unique needs while staying true to yourself.

We support the emotional well-being of parents as individuals too. This includes stress management, identity shifts, relationship strain, and burnout. When caregivers feel supported and grounded, the entire family benefits.

With over a decade of combined experience, we offer therapy and evaluations that are grounded in evidence-based practices, collaborate with professionals and individuals working with your child, and provide comprehensive recommendations to help you or your child thrive. We guide you through handling the toughest challenges, providing you with practical tools and strategies that foster confidence and fulfillment in your journey.

We believe the therapeutic process should be:

Empathetic

Being a parent can feel overwhelming, especially with the flood of information from social media and parenting books. We meet you and your child exactly where you are and offer compassion and empathy to help you move forward.

Evidence-based

Our diverse therapy methods and assessments are all rooted in evidence-based practices. Our goal is to help you and your child make tangible progress and feel empowered to navigate daily life confidently, even beyond therapy.

Values-based

Every family, child, and parent are different. What is okay for one parent is not okay for another parent. We make sure that we understand your family’s values and come alongside to support them rather than prescribing one type of approach to a situation.

Questions About Parent Support

Not at all. When focusing on parenting and your reaction to some of your child’s behaviors, you’re the star of therapy. Of course we are always happy to meet your child if you would like, but they do not have to be involved.

Absolutely! Getting on the same page with your partner can be very difficult. Similarly, being able to support each other in times of stress is also really important. When couples join the session together we can focus more on, what I call, the “caregiver alliance.” We can work through what it looks like to stay connected with each other even when we don’t necessarily agree with the way our partner handled something!

No! Just like anything, there is never one solution to a problem and there is never one single cause of a problem. Oftentimes when working with kids and families, things are multifaceted. But be assured, you will never be blamed for anything going on with your family. Just by reading these questions shows you are taking some ownership and want to work on what is within your control.

That’s okay. We can only change and work on what is in your control. If your partner can’t or won’t join the sessions, we can still work on aspects of parenting that are stressful and challenging for you.

I get this question A LOT! First, I commend you for being an active participant in parenting and gathering information. Second, books and podcasts are really meant to reach the most number of people. They are not tailored to your family’s values, your child, and your unique background. I usually tell families that sometimes the pendulum swings so far in one direction that we need a little extra support and help to get it back in the center. Once you are there, you can listen to all of the wonderful books and podcasts. Additionally, sometimes listening to so many different opinions can feel overwhelming and you don’t know which way is “right.” For all the reasons listed above (family values, etc.), there is no one-size-fits-all approach to parenting. Digging into your own values and what works for your child and family will help you feel more confident with parenting.
