Every child has an inner world that’s constantly trying to tell us something — through a shift in mood, trouble focusing, difficulty making friends, meltdowns after school, or a growing reluctance to talk about what’s really going on. These signals aren’t always easy to read, but they matter, and they’re often the first clue that a child needs more support than they know how to ask for.

I work with children and teens navigating struggles at school and at home, helping them make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface. As both a school psychologist and a doctoral student in School Psychology, I’ve spent years watching how closely a child’s inner experience and outer behavior are linked — and how the right support, offered at the right moment, can shift a child’s entire trajectory.

My Approach

I bring a cognitive-behavioral orientation to my work, helping clients understand the connections between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and build practical, real-world skills for managing what feels overwhelming. As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), I also draw on behavioral strategies that are especially effective with younger children and for families who want clear, concrete tools they can use at home — not just in session.

Above all, I believe therapy for kids works best when it’s collaborative. I partner closely with parents to keep everyone aligned, while still giving children and teens the space and trust they need to open up in their own way and at their own pace.

Background

I’m currently a 3rd-year doctoral student in the School Psychology program at the University of Denver, completing my practicum training under the supervision of Dr. Lynn. Before beginning my PhD, I spent many years working directly in schools as a school psychologist, which shapes how I think about the everyday realities kids and families are up against.
