ADHD Therapy | Denver & Greenwood Village
What is ADHD Therapy?
ADHD therapy is designed to meet the real-life needs of kids, teens, and adults with ADHD. It’s a safe, welcoming space where there’s no judgment and no pressure to sit still, stay perfectly focused, or hold it together for everyone else.
Our ADHD therapists connect with clients using a range of evidence-based approaches, including CBT for ADHD, Parent Management Training, Executive Functioning Training, play-based regulation strategies, and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). In ADHD therapy for kids, we tailor every session to your child’s developmental stage and communication style, using hands-on activities, movement, and games to make them feel as comfortable as possible. For teens and adults, ADHD sessions focus on building practical systems, untangling shame, and developing the self-awareness to understand how their brain works and what it actually needs.
Whether your child is struggling to start their homework, your teen can’t regulate their emotions or hold onto friendships, or you’re falling behind with your workload, ADHD support goes beyond managing the behavior to address what’s driving it. We help individuals build tools that work with their brains rather than against them, supporting their growth academically, socially, and emotionally.
At Integrated Behavioral Health, our goal is to help every client we work with move from feeling like the problem to feeling like a person with a brain worth understanding, and to give their families the confidence and clarity to meet them there.
- Mornings and bedtimes that feel like a battle every single day
- Big emotional reactions that seem to come out of nowhere
- Wanting friends but struggling to keep them
- Trouble sleeping, constant restlessness, or a brain that just won't quiet down
- Holding it together at work or school, but falling apart at home
- A home that feels tense, exhausted, and permanently on edge
We help you and your family understand what's actually going on so you can stop surviving and start living. Visit us in Denver, Greenwood Village or online anywhere in Colorado. Serving surrounding communities.

How ADHD Therapy Can Help
Replacing Shame with Understanding
So many kids with ADHD arrive at our door already believing they’re the problem. They’ve been corrected, redirected, and reminded so many times that “I’m a bad kid” has started to feel like a fact. One of the most important things we do is help kids and adults reframe that story. We don’t look for bigger consequences or better incentives. We look for unmet needs or lagging skills, because kids do well when they can.
Building Practical Tools for Executive Functioning
Executive dysfunction is one of the most frustrating parts of ADHD, and one of the most misunderstood. It’s often mistaken for laziness or a lack of caring, but it’s not; it’s a brain that genuinely struggles to start, shift, and follow through. We work on hands-on, practical executive functioning tools, including planners, timers, visual checklists, and body-doubling strategies, that help your child move through their day with less friction and more confidence.
Reducing the Daily Friction Points
We start by identifying the moments in your day that are creating the most stress, whether that’s the morning routine, the homework battle, or the transition from school to home. From there, we help you make targeted environmental changes that work with your child’s brain rather than against it. Most families feel a noticeable drop in daily tension relatively quickly once these friction points are addressed.
Parent Coaching and Family Support
When a child is struggling, the whole family feels it. Through Parent Management Training and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), we help you shift from being the human reminder system in your home to being a confident, regulated coach. You’ll learn how to respond to big moments instead of reacting to them, how to set up your environment in a way that supports an ADHD brain, and how to have a disagreement without it spiraling into a shutdown that derails the rest of the night.
Supporting the Whole Family System
ADHD affects everyone in the household, including siblings, partners, and the parent who is holding it all together on three hours of sleep. We hold space for that. We support couples navigating the relational strain that comes with ADHD, families adjusting to a new diagnosis at any age, and adults who are realizing for the first time that what they’ve been quietly struggling with their whole life finally has a name.
When you’re ready to become the parent you have always wanted to be, we’re here to help you take the first step.
Why Us
Why Work With
Integrated Behavioral Health
.
I believe therapy & assessments should be a collaborative process between the client and the therapist.
At Integrated Behavioral Health, our goal is to help families feel more confident and to have the resources they need. We support you in riding the ups and downs of parenting, while helping you navigate the complex landscape of having a child with unique needs.
When you’re facing anxiety or uncertainty about how to parent effectively, it can be overwhelming to balance all the competing priorities. You might struggle to find a parenting approach that aligns with your values and helps you feel connected and capable. We’re here to help you understand and meet your child’s unique needs while staying true to yourself.
We support the emotional well-being of parents as individuals too. This includes stress management, identity shifts, relationship strain, and burnout. When caregivers feel supported and grounded, the entire family benefits.
With over a decade of combined experience, we offer therapy and evaluations that are grounded in evidence-based practices, collaborate with professionals and individuals working with your child, and provide comprehensive recommendations to help you or your child thrive. We guide you through handling the toughest challenges, providing you with practical tools and strategies that foster confidence and fulfillment in your journey.
We believe the therapeutic process should be:

Empathetic
Being a parent can feel overwhelming, especially with the flood of information from social media and parenting books. We meet you and your child exactly where you are and offer compassion and empathy to help you move forward.

Evidence-based
Our diverse therapy methods and assessments are all rooted in evidence-based practices. Our goal is to help you and your child make tangible progress and feel empowered to navigate daily life confidently, even beyond therapy.

Values-based
Every family, child, and parent are different. What is okay for one parent is not okay for another parent. We make sure that we understand your family’s values and come alongside to support them rather than prescribing one type of approach to a situation.

Our Approach
How ADHD Therapy Works

We Get To Know You
We meet with you, your child, or both to understand your sensory profile, communication style, and the specific challenges that are making daily life harder than it needs to be. This is the foundation for building a relationship based on trust, curiosity, and genuine understanding.

We Create A Plan
We work with you or your child to understand your unique neurotype and what your nervous system needs. Together, we build an approach that makes sense for how your brain actually works, not how the world expects it to.

We Help You Move Forward
Each session is a stepping stone toward feeling more regulated, more understood, and more confident in your own brain. We adjust the plan as you grow, building on the tools and strategies we have been working on together.

Questions About ADHD Therapy
Do we attend therapy together as a family, or does my child see you alone?
ADHD doesn’t just live in your child. It affects the whole ecosystem of your home, and that means our approach involves the whole family. We typically start with a parent-only intake so we can hear your concerns openly and without filter. From there, we use a flexible, hybrid model. Your child might have individual sessions to build self-regulation skills through play or conversation, while you have coaching sessions to learn how to support those same skills at home. We also hold family sessions where we help bridge the gap in understanding between you and your child.
How is your neuro-affirming approach different from traditional behavioral therapy?
If you’ve already tried the reward charts and consequence systems and found yourself wondering why nothing is sticking, you’re not alone. Traditional behavioral therapy tends to focus on compliance, getting a child to act neurotypical. Our approach focuses on regulation instead. We believe that kids do well when they can, so if your child is struggling, we don’t go looking for a bigger consequence or a better incentive. We look for the unmet need or the lagging skill. Then we help your child understand their own brain, and we help you adjust the environment so they can succeed without having to mask who they are.
Can you help us navigate the school system and IEP or 504 meetings?
Yes, and this is one of the things families tell us they’re most relieved to have support with. We see ourselves as part of your child’s wraparound team. We’re clinicians, but we’re also advocates. We can provide formal documentation of our findings and offer specific, classroom-ready recommendations for teachers. We help you translate clinical goals into educational accommodations so your child’s support is consistent from the breakfast table to the classroom, and so you don’t have to walk into those meetings alone.
How do I know if my child needs therapy or if I just need parent coaching?
Honestly, it’s usually a bit of both, and that’s okay. Sometimes your child needs a safe space to process the shame of feeling different. Often, the fastest change happens when parents are given the user manual for their child’s specific brain. We’ll help you figure out the right balance. If your child is too young for traditional talk therapy, we focus on Child-Parent Relationship Training, which puts you at the center of the healing process. If you’re not sure where to start, book a free consultation, and we’ll help point you in the right direction.
My child is resistant to therapy. How do you handle a reluctant kid or teen?
This is one of the most common concerns we hear, particularly from parents of ADHD teens who are tired of being corrected and redirected at every turn. We don’t start by working on the problem. We start by becoming an adult in their life who isn’t asking them to change, but is genuinely curious about their world. For kids, that can mean LEGOs, Minecraft, or art. For teens, it means letting them set the goals and lead the conversation. When a child feels like therapy is a place where they’re finally understood rather than critiqued, the resistance tends to melt away on its own.
